History of RO
History of RO
Planning for RO began in November 1985, when a committee was formed and volunteers underwent training for a month. The volunteers collected basic information of prospective clients, and conducted home visits in the first three month of 1986 to better understand their family backgrounds and personal interests. This helped in the planning of the programme and budget, and allowed the volunteers to cater to the clients' expectations of the services provided. On 13 April 1986, the project conducted its first orientation programme at East Coast Parkway, and was fully operational in May 1986.
Over more than 3 decades, our mission has remained the same: to assist our members to integrate into society, and to impart skills for independent living.
