About Us
The Reach Out (RO) Project is one of eleven projects under MINDS MYG, the subsidiary volunteer wing of the Movement of the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). The projects under MINDS MYG collectively serve over 200 Persons With Intellectual Disability (PWIDs) of various ages and support needs.
RO was founded in May 1986 after six months of planning and home visits. Our mission is to assist our members to integrate into society, and to impart skills for independent living. Our members generally require lower support than clients in other MIND MYG projects, and many are in open employment.
We provide social, recreational and educational activities for our members to help them develop life skills that are essential for their assimilation into society, such as interpersonal skills and general knowledge. Ultimately, we hope to empower our members to contribute to society.
