Christmas Greetings from RO (December updates)
Merry Christmas everyone!
December was truly a spectacular finish to end off an amazing year. 2018 saw many exciting events lined up back to back each month, from kite flying at Marina Barrage to bowling outings with friends, there was never a shortage of fun activities for the members to participate in (props to the programmes team for their hard work and dedication to planning these events!). In terms of being packed full of engaging activities, December certainly did not disappoint.
In preparation for the annual RO Camp, we kicked off the month with a cat therapy session, with our feline friends coming down from Love Kuching Project to hang out with the members for a meowtastic afternoon. With this year’s camp theme being the animal kingdom at Christmas, members were given the opportunity to interact with these adorable fluffy felines as a pre-camp activity. Members no doubt enjoyed playing around with the kitties very much!
When time came for the highly anticipated RO Camp, members were beyond excited. Every year without fail, RO Camp was always a time cherished and loved by members and volunteers, where it gave everybody a chance to get together for two fun-filled days with good food and even greater company. This year was certainly no exception, with the camp taking place at Changi CSC Chalet at the seaside. The day started off with visiting the Jurong Frog Farm and Hay Dairies Goat Farm, where members got to watch a live milking of the goats and feed them personally.
At the chalet, alongside a sweeping view of the sea and sandy beaches at the doorstep, members enjoyed a hearty BBQ dinner over some party games where many awesome prizes stood to be won. Members really loved the camp as it was a chance to unwind and have fun with their friends. It is safe to say that this year’s RO camp was a resounding success!
As yet another eventful year at RO draws to a fulfilling close, we’d like to take the time to reflect on the past year and thank all those who have been with us and helped us along so far. Here’s to many more amazing years of RO together! And with that, it's a wrap on 2018. More exciting events to come in 2019, stay tuned and don't miss out!
