June 2018 Updates!

June was a really thrilling month where we got to participate in many fascinating activities. This is going to be a really long post, so do take your time to read! Enjoy! 😊
  • Bowling Outing
The Lions Club of Singapore Shangri-la kindly sponsored a bowling party for us. Our members had such a fun time. In fact, here is a short reflection written by one of our members!

"We split ourselves into four different colored groups. They were blue, grey, red and white. We learnt how to roll the bowling ball and practiced targeting the ten bowling pins. After practicing, we played one round of ten matches to challenge the other three groups. I scored 52 points. Although this is not the best score, I am sure I can do better next time. Some members even won some medals and we celebrated birthdays for those who were born between May and July. We gathered to have lunch at Astons and the meal included chicken or fish set, soup and a drink. Good job everyone!"

Once again, special thanks to Lions Club of Singapore Shangri-la for organising this bowling party for us. You went the extra mile by awarding medals for our winners and even celebrating some of our members' birthdays. You have put a smile on our members' faces and we hope to collaborate once again in the future!
  • Concert

Our members got to watch a concert at the School of the Arts (SOTA). Here is a short recount of the experience from one of our members!

"There were a lot of people in SOTA and we had a buffet dinner. After dinner, we took part in activities such as face & hand painting, photo booth and cartoon caricature artists. We then watched a two hours concert and we saw different types of costumes and dances. The performances and hosts were spectacular. I am looking forward to this next year!"

  • Fathers Day Card Making

In conjunction with Fathers' Day 2018, our members showed their appreciation to their Fathers, and/or any fatherly figure by making them a cute card. How thoughtful!
  • ACID Dance Practice

Our very own member, Alvin, led RO to learn the 2018's ACID dance! Every year, we have a different dance for ACID. In order to be fully prepared for ACID this year, our members had to know the ACID's dance. Alvin's passion for dance has allowed him to teach other members. Remarkable! It is heartening to see our members enjoy what they do, and in turn, do what they enjoy!

Indeed, June was a blast! Do come back next month to read our July highlights!
