Aug 2019 Updates and Highlights
Welcome back for another month of updates in RO! π
The Bicentennial Experience at Fort Canning Centre
As we celebrate the bicentennial achievement of our little red dot this year, we took the opportunity to bring our members to the Bicentennial Experience at Fort Canning Centre for one of our sessions. They were amazed by the evolution of Singapore and very much enjoyed the exhibits that allowed them to experience first-hand the major events throughout these 700 years.
Special Olympics Flag Day
In RO, not only do we expose our members to various activities, but we also hope to empower them to give back to society! During one of our sessions this month, our members participated in the Special Olympics Flag Day at Clementi and Jurong Point, to gather donations for the Special Olympics' training programmes, competitions and activities that are provided free-of-charge to their athletes, persons with intellectual disabilities.

use what you have,

✨August Highlights✨
Outside of our daily sessions, one of our members, Jason, also participated in Special Olympics' event Play Inclusive! Play Inclusive! is a sports campaign where athletes with special needs and their unified partners train and learn a new sport together, where the athletes get to challenge themselves to learn new skills, build their teamwork, and develop friendships. Jason, together with other members in MYG, played in the floorball competition and managed to clinch the bronze medal! ππ
Hope you had fun catching up with us! Do remember to return next month for more updates! ππ
