May 2019 Updates!

A very exciting month has just passed by, here are the highlights of the month:
  • Mother's Day
To celebrate Mother's Day, we learned to make cards for our mothers. These cards were simple but full of love for our beloved mothers.

  • CommunitY Service Outing: Beach Clean Up
We went to Changi Beach and picked up rubbish together with Fernvale project. Here is a sharing from our volunteer:

"Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve" -Martin Luther King Jr.
It is in this spirit that we organised a community service outing to Changi Beach in order to provide our members with the opportunity to serve the community. It heartened me to see all the members participating enthusiastically in picking up trash, knowing that we have empowered the members to do what's right. I believe this is but the first step in creating a more socially conscious society where we take care of one another and the environment. Society could indeed take a leaf out of their book.

  • Sembawang Air Base Outing
On 25 May 2019, members from Reach Out had the privilege of witnessing the Singapore Armed Forces Commandos and the Republic of Singapore Air Force Red Lions at the Commando Toy Drop 2019. Much to the delight of the crowd, the Guest-of-Honour - Mr. Tan Chuan-Jin did a freefall parachuting from 10,000ft with the Commandos and Red Lions.
Besides witnessing the Toy Drop, our members also had a taste of combat rations, typically consumed by cadets and soldiers. Indeed, it was a morning well-spent for the members as it was a ‘first’ for many of them to get up close and personal with our Commandos and Red Lions. A special and heartfelt thank you, to the Singapore Armed Forces, the Republic of Singapore Air Force and NCSS (National Council of Social Service) for the enjoyable event.
